Chips, bark and shavings

Wood chippings

By-products from sawmill production such as pulp, chippings, shavings and bark represent an increasingly important asset for Moelven and the Group’s industrial customers.

Wood chippings are used as intermediate goods for other industrial production. Among the Moelven customers for this product are the pulp and paper industry, the particle board industry and energy companies. By-products are tailored to each individual customer’s needs.

High preparedness for changing customer requirements

Our primary goal is to fill the need for raw materials in the processing industry located in the vicinity of the Group’s locations We seek to enter into long-term contracts with the customers we supply, which is equally important to our customers. They need to be able to know that we are reliable suppliers and that we are ready and able to adapt to changing customer requirements.

Local raw materials

The bi-products we deliver come from the intake of raw material to our own plants, and this in turn is sourced mainly from forests close to the sawmills. Using local raw materialsminimises transportation costs and environmental impact; accordingly, we always strive to increase the proportion of local raw materials.

Chips, bark and shavings
